The construction of pot magnets is a magnet protected by metallic case which causes there is only one face has the magnetic attraction, but all the other sides are non-magnetic. So, pot magnets are easily positioned on ferromagnetic items in the required place and other items or machine parts in the vicinity of the pot magnet do not became magnetized.

Pot magnets are used widely in mounting tools, piece setting for its bending, cutting, joining, machining etc. It's important to understand the magnetic strength being reduced by increasing the temperature. The loss depends on their maximum permitted working temperature, the loss is temporary, and it can be recovered except a little bit of irreversible loss when temperature is decreased.
